Sound Healing Lecture & Workshop Feedback We've had rave reviews all week about our workshop presenter,
Tryshe Dhevney, who came out from Tucson to share her Chakra Tones work
with us. If you missed Tryshe, you can still order her Chakra Tones CD
directly from her website SoundShifting.com.The sound work was so well received that we've already scheduled the next workshop for the 1st weekend in November, which will be a 2-Day Practitioner Training. Due to the personal attention that Tryshe gives, a maximum of 10 participants will be accepted. Early registration with deposit is recommended to reserve a spot. What we sometimes perceive as randomness is actually not so random at all. There is order among the chaos, if we know where to look. Sacred Geometry appears in plants, animals, outer space, mathematics, as well as the human body. The geometrical arrangement of leaves, petals and other organs in plants and the study of those patterns is named phyllotaxis, from the greek phyllo (leaf) and taxis (order). If we were to take the time to look closely at the arrangement of petals on a flower, several things would become apparent. First, we would notice that the number of petals on a flower is often one of the Fibonacci numbers... 1 - calla lilly, 2 - euphorbia, 3 - trillium, 5 - columbine, 8 - bloodroot, 13 - black-eyed susan, 21 - shasta daisy, 34 - field daisy, etc. How plants "know" where to create the next leaf or branch is also a phenomenon not left to chance. At each stage of development, the number of leaves will equal a Fibonacci number, and the exact placement of the next new growth will also be at an angle determined to be a phyllotaxic ratio. Amazing, or what? One need only look at a daisy, a pine cone, or a pineapple, to recognize the spirals that are formed within and around them. What is surprising to learn, is that these spirals are always consecutive Fibonacci numbers. Let's take a closer look to illustrate this point: Here we can clearly see the two
spirals going in opposite directions: One spiral of 21 going counter
clockwise, and another spiral of 34 going clockwise. Again, 21 and 34 are
consecutive Fibonacci numbers.Next time you are preparing dinner, look closely at a head of cauliflower as you cut the florets off the stem. Notice any patterns? How about with an artichoke? Look at how the leaves are all uniformly placed at the same angle from each other. How about that pineapple? Look very closely and you will see not 2, but 3 spirals going around the outside! And yes, the 5-8-13 spirals are all consecutive Fibonacci numbers. Are you beginning to see these numbers everywhere now? The number 1.618..., or Phi, is the ratio of the dimensions of a Golden Rectangle. The Golden Rectangle, alleged to be the most aesthetically pleasing rectangular shape possible, was first constructed by Pythagoras in the 6th century BCE. It is defined as the rectangle which, when squared, leaves another Golden Rectangle behind. The characteristic of a Golden Rectangle is this - when you square it, you are left with another rectangle with the same proportions as the original. The Golden Rectangle in art and architecture appears throughout history...in Mondrian's paintings, in Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" and his famous study of the proportions of man, "The Vetruvius Man." The Golden Rectangle appears in the Greek temple, the Parthenon, and in the Acropolis in Athens, as well as in the United Nations building in New York. The Golden Ratio is evident in the Great Pyramids at Giza, using a 5 to 8 ratio between height and base. ![]() The
Golden Spiral can also be created from the Golden Rectangle, or by simply
using consecutive Fibonacci numbers. See if you recognize this sequence in
the pattern: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc. Have you seen this before, perhaps
when looking at a chambered nautilus??? Is it random, or is there order in
the universe? The nautilus shell spiral is a logarithmic spiral. The
spiral of the chambered nautilus as well as other logarithmic spirals can
be found throughout the human body and nature. The human inner ear and a
star cluster nebula are just two examples which can be seen with a
microscope or a telescope. Sacred Geometry appears also in the form of the Platonic Solids. Platonic Solids are perfectly regular solids with the following conditions: all sides are equal and all angles are the same and all faces are identical. Only five Platonic solids exist: tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron. The Platonic solids were discovered by the Pythagoreans and were called originally Pythagorean solids. The Greek philosopher Plato described the solids in detail later in his book "Timaeus" and assigned the items to the Platonic conception of the world, hence today they are well-known under the name "Platonic Solids." In this work, Plato equated the tetrahedron with the element fire, the cube with earth, the icosahedron with water, the octahedron with air, and the dodecahedron with the stuff of which the constellations and heavens were made. ![]() There are so many more ways that Sacred Geometry presents itself in our world. What I have shown here is just the tip of the iceberg. If I had another few chapters to write, it would include examination of the human Merkaba, the Kabbalah, Sanskrit, Vesica Pisces, Sri Yantra, The Flower of Life, the Torus, Metatron's Cube, the Endless Knot, Mandalas, the Harmonics of Music and the 13 Chakras ... the list goes on. One thing is certain, though. Once you start seeing these patterns and relationships, your world opens up to a new level. What we once perceived as random or chaotic is actually very ordered, from microcosm to macrocosm. And so it is with all of life. About the Author Article by Donna Tetreault of SacredWaves.com.
