Om forks are tuned to the sacred syllable of "OM". This frequency is also known as the Heart Chakra, Chi, Life Force, and many other names. It is in tune with the rotation of the Earth around the Sun, and is the keynote in India for the Sitar and Tambura. Using an OM tuning fork helps us become One with our surrounding environment, which is a very calming and pleasing experience. It is also considered the "primordial sound" from which all other sounds come from. The Middle OM frequnecy is 136.1 Hz. Higher and Lower OM frequencies are octaves above and below Middle OM.
